Terra Clayton, RN, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with more than 20 years of professional experience in hospital and clinical settings, treating children, adolescents, and adults with addiction and psychiatric concerns. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, UT, and a PMHNP accreditation from the University of South Alabama.
With a strong educational foundation, she has excelled in subsequent positions for regional medical centers, hospitals, and county mental health facilities. Terra specializes in medication management and treatment of anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues associated with a range of issues, including ADHD, addiction, bipolar disorder, chronic relapse, emotional disturbance, obsessive-compulsive disorder, substance dependency and abuse, trauma, and PTSD. With a nonjudgmental, come-as-you-are demeanor, she works collaboratively with patients, families, and associated medical professionals to develop personalized plans that include diagnostic evaluation, medication management, and supportive therapy.
Adaptable with her communication style and solutions-based with her approach, Terra meets patients where they are at, providing a safe, therapeutic space to facilitate an optimal environment for rehabilitation. She is well-versed in medical intricacies involved with psychiatric illness, and she conveys her recommendations and treatment plans in a compassionate, unambiguous manner. Practiced assessing and treating patients of all ages, she has extensive experience interfacing and connecting with youth and young adults.
For the past decade, Terra has resided on the Central Coast with her family, diligently advancing in her career in a field that enables her to give back to her community in an important and fulfilling way.
